Poly Dike™ – Portable Spill Containment System Poly Dike Walls were designed in response to concrete berm walls that were cracking and deteriorating while being used as secondary containment barriers for above-ground storage tanks. Poly Dike Walls are a unique fiberglass alternative to concrete berm walls for spill containment areas. These systems require no engineering costs, no routine maintenance, and the systems are crack-free. They are flexible enough to follow slightly uneven floor contours, yet strong enough to maintain their structure in harsh industrial applications.
The modular design coupled with wall heights varying from 12”, 28”, 24”, to 30” allows flexible use of floor space to meet varying spill capacity requirements. Note that when determining system size the base of the Poly Dike wall varies in width from approximately 12” to 24” based on wall height. All Poly Dike Wall sizes are a truncated triangular structure manufactured of various thicknesses of fiberglass based on wall height from 3/16” to ¼” thick.
Three common ways to use a Poly Dike Wall are: 1) Bolted and sealed to a concrete pad. 2) Bolted and sealed to a concrete pad with a fiberglass floor lamination, or 3) Bolted or fiber glassed together and used with a flexible liner to provide a containment pond inside the walls. When used in this application it is recommended that the customer purchase liner caps; fiberglass strips which are place over the line and screwed into the top of the wall to secure the liner in place.
